The interface shipped with a stripped down version of cubase, so I may try that, but reaper is still my first choice. Trouble is, Protools First is absolute dog sh!t (if they think it's a good selling tool for the paid version, they are soooo wrong), and I really like reaper apart from this problem. PS It's worth mentioning I installed Protools First to see if the problem was in reaper. Trouble is, I don't have room to set that up in my recording space because of the master keyboard (which I also prefer playing) If I set up my stage piano with an on-off style sus pedal and a standard quarter inch jack, it recorgnises it just fine. this only happens on my master keyboard which is a technics pcm px30 (the sustain pedal uses a custom connector, and sends a signal from 0 through 127 depending on how far the pedal is pressed, as opposed to an on-off style pedal) Basically, any midi input from the piano after the sustain pedal input wipes out the sustain. Problem is, I've set it up, installed drivers, told reaper to listen to it, and I'm having the exact same problem. ![]() Specifically, the steinberg UR22 which I have just bought. In follow up to my first post I spoke to a friend who's running reaper who had the same problem with an old midi to USB cable, which he resolved by using an interface. Hello reapists (I think I might have just got away with that one!)
